Pushing myself to the limit!

23 days, 2000(ish?) push-ups!

The Push-Up Challenge is all about raising funds and awareness for the Canadian Mental Health Association: an association that strives to help all Canadians have access to the mental health care they need, when they need it.

This heart month, join me on this journey of intense physical exertion so that we can #pushforbetter together!

In order to keep this interesting for myself (and of course to keep myself accountable), I'm going to try and record every push-up (cinematography not guaranteed), and I'm going to try and follow a pattern of 10 military-style (narrow-stance) push-ups, 40 standard (wide-stance) pusg-ups, 10 military-style push-ups, 39 standard push-ups, and one *special* push-up (diamond push-up (think less shine, more burn), slow descent, handstand push-up!? Who knows! I'll figure it out as I go along). I'll post the videos whenever I get a chance so you can comment on how bad my form is or that I'm not going low enough for them to count!

Update: Because of my travel from Feb 9-20, I started falling behind as of about February 15th. In order to make up that ground, the last 1000 push-ups of this challenge will not be following the above pattern. Volume is a lot more important than varying muscle groups!

P.S. - You thought I was going to just do push-ups? I'm training for a rugby tournament -- we don't skip leg day or cardio! But I get real sweaty, so I'm not going to record this parts. You'll just have to take my word for it.

P.P.S. - I've got an international vacation in the middle there, so I don't think this is going to work out to be exactly 87 push-ups per day. I'll get there when I get there -- even if I have to back-load it a little bit to compensate :P

P.P.S. - Apparently the application restricts you to their limit on a per-day basis (as a UX developer this wounds me deeply). If you see push-ups in the future, it's because I'm able to count higher than they are, and I need to front-load this a bit to account for the aforementioned vacation.
